IAF hits Gaza buildings after Hamas fires 26 Qassams

By Nir Hasson and Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondents, Haaretz Service and The Associated Press
September 24, 2005

The Israel Air Force launched three air strikes on buildings in the Gaza Strip early Saturday in the first air attacks since Israel completed its pullout from Gaza last week, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Palestinian hospital officials said three people were lightly injured in the IAF operation.

The air strikes came after Palestinians launched 26 Qassam rockets at targets in Israel, 21 of which landed in the western Negev town of Sderot, wounding five Israelis, one moderately and the others lightly, the army said. Six others were treated for shock.

Two rockets were fired at an IDF base near the Gaza security fence, another landed in Kibbutz Kissufim, and another landed in an open field in the area. Also, an anti-tank rocket was fired at IDF troops along Gaza border.

Hamas said the Qassam attack was in response to Friday's blast at a Gaza City rally organized by the militant group, in which 19 people were killed.

The IDF announced Saturday that it had sealed off the West Bank, Jordan Valley and Gaza Strip in response to the Qassam attacks, Israel Radio reported.

Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz consulted Saturday morning with IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Dan Halutz and Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin to discuss Israel's broader arsenal of responses, security officials said.

The IDF said the air strikes targeted three Hamas weapons facilities, a weapons warehouse in the Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza, a weapons factory in Gaza City and another weapons warehouse in Gaza City.

One missile landed in an empty field near an abandoned workshop where militants used to make homemade rockets in Gaza City, according to security officials.

The owner of the workshop, Mahed Abu Assi, 42, denied that it was used to produce weapons.

The second airstrike hit a garage outside the house of a Hamas militant. The third landed outside the house of an Islamic Jihad militant in Gaza City.

"The [IDF] will continue to act with determination to protect the citizens of Israel," the army said in a statement after the air strikes Saturday.

Hamas spokesman Mushir al Masri promised retaliation for the airstrikes.

Hamas vows to continue attacks on Israel after pullout

By The Associated Press
August 13, 2005

In a show of force, Hamas founders and political leaders appeared Saturday on a stage together for the first time in 10 years to tell the Palestinian people that the militant group's armed struggle will go on after Israel's impending withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

Enough said.

I believe hamas will retaliate freely, they will kill Israelis. When they promiss something, they do.
On the other hand, Israel not only doesn't promiss to Israelis nothing, but even if they do anything, it always looks sad and funny. Powerful country that doesn't care to protect their citizens.
These "retaliatory" "strikes" are children's play - always directed at empty houses or just a field.
Israel shows "humanity" at the cost of Israeli lives.
Does anybody care ? absolutely not.
This type of inaction, inability and unwillingness to protect their own citizens causes just more hatred to Israel.
Israeli "leaders" have sold their souls to satan.

Or, perhaps listening to the wrong advisors. Come to think of it, isn't that what has always led people away from listening to Yahweh's advice?

"If my people..."

Yes Exclamation

This is exactly what most of us knew would happen. Hamas/palestinians, etc., are so darn predictable. (Just wait until Judah and Samaria are also made Judenrein.)

the so called "advisors" are also brainwashed assholes.
They are all the same. It's not them who are going to decide what to do after every round of "palestinian" suicidal act.
Sharon is scared to death of bush. Bush is playing with him with a child.
He got all the control over him. Bush says DON'T do anything, restrain.
Sharon follows his instructions to the word.
Arabs know that and will continue killing as many Israelis as they want.
Maximum that Israel will do, is send a couple of jets to drop a bomb or two on an empty building. Exactly what happened today.
It was so predictable.
"palestinians" can kill 20...30 Israelis and Israel will do absolutely nothing.
Just a couple of empty threats.
Israel prefers to save lives of 20 "palestinians" but not Israelis'.
Unfortunately, today lives of 20 Israelis is less important than of even 5 "palestinians".
